Inspiring Young Futures: Showcasing Careers in Harlow

ree

We were delighted to attend the Uttlesford Careers Fair on Tuesday 18th November at Saffron Walden County High School, where more than 1,500 students from across Uttlesford, Harlow and Stansted Airport colleges came together to explore their future career options.

The event brought together a fantastic mix of employers, training providers and educators across six industry zones, giving young people aged 13–18 the opportunity to ask questions, seek advice and discover new opportunities. We were really pleased to be invited as a local employer and to share more about the wide range of careers available within our organisation.

Throughout the day, we enjoyed speaking with so many students, teachers and, later in the afternoon, parents too. Their enthusiasm, curiosity and confidence made every conversation worthwhile. It was particularly inspiring to meet students interested in the construction and building services sector, where we were able to offer real insight into the variety of roles, skills and career pathways the industry has to offer.

Following the careers fair, we were also pleased to host a site visit at our Harlow site for students from Harlow College.

The visit included a guided site tour and a presentation, giving students the opportunity to see a live working environment, learn more about our projects and gain a deeper understanding of the skills, roles and pathways available within the industry. It was great to welcome the group and answer their questions, helping to bring classroom learning to life.

Events like this play a vital role in helping young people feel informed and empowered about their next steps, and we were proud to be involved.
