New Project Award | Sopers Lane, Poole

We’re delighted to announce that Wilten has been appointed as the main contractor for the design and build of a new light industrial and warehouse unit at Sopers Lane in Poole. The development will deliver a manufacturing facility of over 100,000 sq. ft with ancillary offices, external works, incoming services, drainage, and associated off-site works.

This exciting scheme, being delivered for Kingsbridge and IMI, follows the success of our Fareham project and marks our second project with Kingsbridge — a valued repeat business client. We’re proud to continue building on this strong relationship.

This project is being delivered in collaboration with Quartz Project Services, HNW Architects, and Powell Tolner & Associates, combining expertise across all disciplines to ensure the project’s successful delivery.

The development represents significant investment into the existing employment area, replacing outdated buildings with a best-in-class, sustainable new facility for a major Poole employer which has been established in the town for over 60 years.

Benefits for the local area and  IMI:

  • Efficient redevelopment of brownfield land that respects the nearby residential properties and preserves the existing belt of trees along the northern boundary.

  • Creation of long-term local employment opportunities, supporting economic growth within the community.

  • Provision of modern, highly sustainable employment space to replace office buildings which are at the end of their economic life.

  • Sustainable, energy-efficient design, targeting BREEAM Outstanding, to attract forward-thinking businesses and improve operational performance.

Our approach

Wilten’s design and construction strategy is focused on sustainability, collaboration, and community engagement.

  • With a requirement for BREEAM Excellent certification and an aspiration to reach Outstanding, we are closely monitoring progress and performance throughout the design and construction stages.

  • The development will incorporate renewable and low-carbon technologies to improve energy efficiency and align with Climate Change commitments.

  • We will continue community engagement around Sopers Lane, working alongside Kingsbridge and Quartz to keep neighbours informed and involved throughout the build.

  • Our team is committed to promoting local skills and employment, engaging with nearby schools and colleges through site visits and outreach activities to encourage careers in construction.

This project marks another step forward in delivering sustainable industrial spaces that support business growth, community development and environmental responsibility.
