Wilten Knowsley Project – Supporting Students at The Big Welcome

As part of our Design and Build contract to deliver Imagination Two at Image Business Park in Knowsley, we are delivering social value for local people in and around the area, in partnership with Fusion21.

In accordance with our project specific commitments , our Knowsley project team were delighted to attend Knowsley Community College’s Big Welcome Event, a fantastic annual initiative designed to support new students as they embark on their college journey.

Our team hosted a stand at the careers fair, giving students the chance to learn more about the exciting opportunities within the construction industry. From apprenticeships and training routes to insights into project life, we aimed to show that construction is a career path open to everyone, regardless of background or starting point.

The Big Welcome event is about much more than careers, it is designed to inspire students about the future, showing them the wide range of opportunities that lie ahead. Alongside this, it offers volunteering opportunities and resources to help them settle into college life, all in an uplifting and supportive environment.

Being part of this event gave us the chance to connect with students right at the start of their academic year, encouraging them to think big about what they can achieve.

At Wilten, we are committed to supporting communities by not only delivering projects but also by contributing to the growth and aspirations of the people who live, study, and work around them. Taking part in the Big Welcome Event was a fantastic opportunity to do just that, and we look forward to continuing to work alongside Knowsley Community College in the future.
