Topping-out at Cross Oak Lane, Horley
Wilten Construction welcomed Kingsbridge and stakeholders to Cross Oak Lane, Horley, to celebrate the topping out of the development, marking another significant step forward in the delivery of the scheme.

The development, being delivered by Wilten for valued repeat client Kingsbridge, will provide two high-quality semi-detached industrial and logistics units totalling 87,752 sqft within the established Salfords Industrial Estate. Designed to meet growing demand for modern, flexible industrial accommodation, the scheme will deliver units of 56,959 sqft and 30,793 sqft.
The event brought together representatives from Kingsbridge, DAL Group, Quartz, HNW Architects, Cudd Bentley and PTA, providing an opportunity to recognise the progress achieved so far. The ceremony also reinforced the strong working relationship between Wilten and Kingsbridge, following the successful delivery of Ferne Park in Fareham and the ongoing development at Sopers Lane in Poole.
Justin Watts, Operations Director at Wilten Construction, said:
"Today's topping out ceremony marks an important milestone for the Cross Oak Lane development and is a testament to the hard work, collaboration and commitment shown by everyone involved. We are proud to be delivering this scheme for Kingsbridge, a valued repeat client, and it is fantastic to see the project progressing so well. It is always rewarding to celebrate these milestones with the wider project team and recognise the collective effort that has brought us to this stage. We look forward to maintaining this momentum as we move towards completion."
Tom Newman, Development Director at Kingsbridge, said:
“We’re pleased to celebrate this important milestone in the development of Cross Oak Lane, which will bring high-quality, sustainable facilities to the area that support local employment. This project builds upon our successful partnership with Wilten Construction and our strong track record of delivering industrial schemes together.”
Sustainability remains a key focus throughout the development, with the scheme targeting BREEAM Excellent and EPC A+ ratings. The project incorporates photovoltaic roof panels, EV charging infrastructure, natural roof lighting and enhanced landscaping, helping to create a high-quality industrial environment while supporting long-term sustainable growth in the area.
Now in week 14 of the programme, the project continues to make excellent progress. Steelwork is 95% complete, drainage works have been completed, cladding installation is underway and works have commenced on the service yard slab. With key milestones continuing to be achieved, the team remains focused on maintaining momentum and delivering another high-quality industrial development for Kingsbridge at Cross Oak Lane.
