Steel Topping Marks Major Milestone at Imagination Two, Knowsley

A major milestone has been reached in Knowsley as work continues on the Imagination Two development at Image Business Park. The project team gathered to celebrate the completion of the steel with a steel topping ceremony alongside client, Seybourne Estates, and partners Quartz, Trinity, and EQT Partners.

The new 60,000 sqft industrial and office facility is being built with efficiency and sustainability at its heart. Designed to achieve BREEAM Very Good and EPC A ratings, the scheme also aims to enhance the site’s biodiversity value, creating a place where nature and industry can thrive side by side.

Key Milestones Achieved

Now 15 weeks into construction, the project is making excellent progress and has completed significant construction works to achieve the completion of the structural frame including:

• Demolition, breaking up and crushing of existing floor slabs and foundations

• Regrading the site to the require construction levels

• Construction of retaining walls

• Ground improvement and foundations

• Initial concrete yard

• Metal decking and stud welding

With the structural frame now in place, the team’s focus is on roof and wall cladding, floor slab, and installation of dock levellers and prowall systems.

These key works have been achieved thanks to the dedication of the project team who are delivering the project safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to neighbours. Working in accordance with the Considerate Constructors Scheme, the team has pledged to be a good neighbour throughout the build — maintaining site quality, monitoring access routes, and engaging regularly with local businesses.

Successes Beyond the Physical Build - Boosting the Local Economy

Located within Knowsley Industrial Estate, Imagination Two has been designed to contribute positively to Knowsley’s local economy by adding valuable, modern business space to the local area, and supporting job creation, investment, and sustainable growth.

The Wilten project team are supporting job creation and growth by working in collaboration with Knowsley Council and Fusion 21 to deliver social value activities aligned with Knowsley Council’s aspirations and commitments for the area.

As part of this commitment, the team has set a target of 76 social value weeks to be delivered over the course of the project through initiatives such as:

• Local employment and procurement

• Educational visits for schools and colleges

• Community volunteering and outreach

Progress is being reported via a Social Value Tracker aligned to the National TOMS, ensuring that the project provides measurable benefits for Knowsley residents throughout construction.

Recent social value activity on the project saw the project team attending Knowsley Community College’s Big Welcome Event — a fantastic annual initiative designed to support new students as they begin their college journey.

The Imagination Two project is on track for completion in 2026, marking another strong addition to Knowsley’s growing business landscape.
