Celebrating National Careers Week 2026

As part of National Careers Week, we are shining a spotlight on the fantastic work experience journey we have supported over the past month.

We were delighted to welcome a student from Knowsley Community College to our site at Imagination Two, Knowsley. He joined us every Wednesday for the last five weeks, shadowing both our Site Manager and Site Engineer.

Throughout the placement, he embraced every opportunity to broaden his experience — gaining valuable hands‑on experience while developing a much deeper understanding of main contracting and the day‑to‑day operations of a busy construction site.

Building on his previous on-site trade experience, the programme allowed him to apply his existing skills within a large-scale project environment. This provided real insight into the bigger picture — from coordination of multidisciplinary elements to the collaborative approach required to successfully deliver a major industrial and logistics development.

During his time on site, he completed:

  • An online Site Management Training course

  • Drainage surveys under the supervision of our Site Engineer

  • AutoCAD training to build technical skills

What truly stood out was his enthusiasm for teamwork and his curiosity about how each role contributes to ensuring a safe, efficient, and successful project. He remained fully engaged throughout the programme and came away with great insight into how the team collaborates, navigates challenges, and problem-solves to keep the project moving forward.

We are proud to support the next generation of construction talent — and National Careers Week is a great reminder of the importance of creating meaningful pathways into the industry.

Over the next month, we look forward to continuing our work with colleges and students, hosting:

  • Bournemouth & Poole College – Site visit to Sopers Lane, Poole

  • Harlow College – Site visit to Howard Way, Harlow

  • Saffron Walden County High School – Work experience placement in Harlow

  • Denbigh School – Site visit to Shenley Wood, Milton Keynes

Here’s to inspiring future careers!
